- Coastal Trail: Circling the island’s edge, this trail takes you through windswept coastal zones and beach ridges. Look for dune-stabilising plants, nesting seabirds, signs of the island’s geological history, and revegetation along the shoreline.
- Sustainability Trail: Wander through Lady Elliot’s solar heart. Learn how the island harnesses sunlight for power, makes freshwater, and manages waste – all on a remote island!
- Southwest Trail: Step into the island’s restoration zone. This trail winds through the nursery, the dense Pisonia forest, and re-established coastal zones – showcasing decades of revegetation work and seabird habitat recovery.
- Northwest Trail: This trail reveals the next chapter of restoration. Explore areas once overrun by weeds, now becoming thriving native fruit forests and resilient grass-shrub zones. You’ll also pass the historic well and rubble banks of the northwest coast.
